Perfect Baked Chicken Breast

Looking for a recipe for baked chicken breast?
This is the only recipe you'll need!

The ubiquitous chicken just might be the most popular meat around.  Cooks love it for its versatility and folks, young and old, love the flavor of it.  I’ve cooked a lot of chicken in my lifetime, and we think this is one of the best!

This is why it tastes so good:  a little brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and seasoned pepper in a rub makes all the difference.  It gives the chicken a smokey, slightly sweet taste and makes it look appealing also.

I was reluctant to bake the chicken at 450° but, found that it’s the perfect temperature for the meat; the high heat sealed in the juices and made the chicken moist and tender.  Allow the chicken to rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing; otherwise, it could result in a dry piece of protein sitting in a pool of juices.

Bill and I truly agreed that this was some delicious chicken!

Try it, I bet you’ll agree also!

  2. Well, you're right about that - everyone, young or old, likes chicken meat.
Skinless, boneless breast with the right seasoning and the perfect oven temperature - turns into a juicy, full flavored baked chicken breast. The slices on the plate look very tempting!

  11. I make rubs and spice mixtures all the time. Problem is any leftover, I put in a jar and never mark the contents. When I want to reuse again, I never can find the right one and left to smelling contents and hope for the best@!!@ LOL

  12. Pam, My better half generally doesn't like chicken breasts and prefers the thighs. One of the reasons is that the breast meat isn't as moist...too dry for her. It never occurred to me that baking it at a high heat would seal in the moisture! Thanks for the revelation! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  15. Cooking at high heat can give really good results. I often use a similar method as yours when I cook chicken breasts. Will often cook several, and freeze what we can't use immediately for another meal. Terrific post, and the rub looks delish. Thanks!
